ततो ऽन्तरिक्षाद् भगवान् अवतीर्य सुरेश्वरः ॥
मरुद्गणवृतः पार्थं माधवं चाब्रवीद् इदम् ॥
कृतं युवाभ्यां कर्मेदम् अमरैर् अपि दुष्करम् ॥
वरान् वृणीतं तुष्टो ऽस्मि दुर्लभान् अप्य् अमानुषान् ॥

वरान् वृणीतं तुष्टः अस्मि दुर्लभान् अपि अमानुषान्varān vṛṇītaṃ tuṣṭaḥ asmi durlabhān api amānuṣānchoose boons — I am pleased — though they be hard to attain, beyond human reach."

Traducción

Vaishampayana said: "Then from the sky descended the blessed lord of the gods, Indra, surrounded by the host of Maruts, and said this to Partha and Madhava: 'A deed has been done by you two, difficult even for the immortals; choose boons — I am pleased — though they be hard to attain, beyond human reach.'"
