अहानि पञ्च चैकं च विरराम सुतर्पितः ॥
जग्ध्वा मांसानि पीत्वा च मेदांसि रुधिराणि च ॥
युक्तः परमया प्रीत्या ताव् उवाच विशां पते ॥

Here the six-day conflagration comes to its end. It must be soberly noted: scripture names the creatures that perished, without delighting in their death. Agni, however, formerly wasted by his ailment from surfeited offerings, is now healed and sated. Here is the completion of an appointed term: every deed, even a fearsome one, has its own measure and limit. Thus scripture shows Agni's satiety; and he turns to the two heroes in gratitude.
