पितामहो हि गाङ्गेयः शंतनोर् अधि भारत ॥
ब्रह्मर्षिसदृशो जज्ञे देवैर् अपि दुरुत्सहः ॥
पित्रा ह्य् उक्तः प्रसन्नेन नाकामस् त्वं मरिष्यसि ॥
ब्रह्मर्षेश् च भरद्वाजाद् द्रोण्यां द्रोणो व्यजायत ॥
द्रोणाज् जज्ञे महाराज द्रौणिश् च परमास्त्रवित् ॥
कृपश् चाचार्यमुख्यो ऽयं महर्षेर् गौतमाद् अपि ॥
शरस्तम्बोद्भवः श्रीमान् अवध्य इति मे मतिः ॥
अयोनिजं त्रयं ह्य् एतत् पिता माता च मातुलः ॥
अश्वत्थाम्नो महाराज स च शूरः स्थितो मम ॥
सर्व एते महाराज देवकल्पा महारथाः ॥
शक्रस्यापि व्यथां कुर्युः संयुगे भरतर्षभ ॥

kṛpaś cācāryamukhyo 'yaṃ maharṣer gautamād api ||
śarastambodbhavaḥ śrīmān avadhya iti me matiḥ ||
ayonijaṃ trayaṃ hy etat pitā mātā ca mātulaḥ ||
aśvatthāmno mahārāja sa ca śūraḥ sthito mama ||
sarva ete mahārāja devakalpā mahārathāḥ ||
śakrasyāpi vyathāṃ kuryuḥ saṃyuge bharatarṣabha ||
He who through his wicked deeds has caused suffering to the sons of Pandu, who are all devoted to virtue and undeserving of destruction, he who hates them even now — that sinful man, O king, who is none other than your own son — must, together with all his supporters, be stopped by every means.
