Named are the four horses of the Lord — Balahaka, Meghapushpa, Sainya, Sugriva — and the parasol wrought by Vishvakarman, the divine architect. Krishna commands Daruka "yattaḥ kavacī tiṣṭha", 'be ready, stand clad in armor': even the charioteer of the Lord must be prepared and armored. It is telling that God neglects not a single detail of preparation. The verse teaches that service to the Lord demands readiness and diligence: even he who drives his chariot is called to stand armored and alert — for the work of God is carried out not carelessly, but with full care and vigilance.
