नित्यप्रमुदितानां तागीस्वनो हान्
नृत्यतां श्रूते ता णानां सो ऽद्य ध्वनिः
प्तन्तून् विन्वाना यम् पान्ति याकाः
सौत्तिं श्रुनिधिं तेषां श्रूते ध्वनिः

nityapramudināṃ ca latasvano mahān ||
nṛtyatāṃ śrūyate ta gaṇānāṃ so 'dya na dhvaniḥ ||
saptatantūn vitanvā yam usanti jakāḥ ||
saumadattiṃ śrutanidhiṃ teṣāṃ na śrūyate dhvaniḥ ||

Traducción

"And of the ever-merry [troupes] the great sound of tuneful singing dancers used to be heard, O dear one; of those troupes there is now no clamor. The priests who extend the seven strands [of the sacrifice] and honor the son of Somadatta, the treasury of learning — their clamor is not heard."
