न्त ते संप्रक्ष्यामि र्वं प्रत्यक्षर्शिवान्
शुश्रूस्व स्थिरो भूत्वा व ह्य् यो हान्
तोके सेतुन्धो यादृक् तादृग् यं
विलापो निष्फलो राजन् मा शुचो र्ष
तिक्रणीयो ऽयं कृतान्तस्याद्भुतो विधिः
मा शुचो श्रेष्ठ दिष्टम् तत् पुरानम्

saṃjaya uvāca
hanta te saṃpravakṣyāmi sarvaṃ pratyakṣadarśivān ||
śuśrūṣasva sthiro bhūtvā tava hy apanayo mahān ||
gatodake setubandho dṛk tādṛg ayaṃ tava ||
vipo niṣphalo jan mā śuco bharatarṣabha ||
anatikramaṇīyo 'yaṃ kṛntasyādbhuto vidhiḥ ||
śuco bharataśreṣṭha diṣṭam etat putanam ||

मा शुचः भरतर्षभmā śucaḥ bharatarṣabhado not grieve, O bull [of the race] of Bharata; do not grieve, O bull among Bharatas
अनतिक्रमणीयः अयम्anatikramaṇīyaḥ ayaminsurmountable is this; insurmountable is this
कृतान्तस्य अद्भुतः विधिःkṛtāntasya adbhutaḥ vidhiḥthe wondrous law of Fate [the Ender]; the wondrous law of Fate
मा शुचः भरतश्रेष्ठmā śucaḥ bharataśreṣṭhado not grieve, O best of the Bharatas; do not grieve, O best of the Bharatas

"Well then, I shall tell you all, having seen it with my own eyes; listen, and be firm, for your blunder is great. Like the building of a dam when the water has already gone, so is this lament of yours — fruitless, O king; do not grieve, O bull of the Bharata race. Insurmountable is this wondrous law of Fate; do not grieve, O best of the Bharatas — this was ordained from of old."
