रुस्यात्मजो वीरः तु राजा श्रुतायुधः
र्णाशा नी स्य शीतोया हादी
स्य माताब्रवीद् वाक्यं रुणं पुत्रकाणात्
ध्यो ऽयं वेल्लोके त्रूणां यो
रुणस् त्व् ब्रवीत् प्रीतो दाम्य् स्मै रं हितम्
दिव्यम् स्त्रं सुतस् ते ऽयं नाध्यो विष्यति

tasya brad vākyaṃ varuṇaṃ putraraṇāt ||

varuṇas tv abrat prīto damy asmai varaṃ hitam ||
divyam astraṃ sutas te 'yaṃ yavadhyo bhaviṣyati ||

Traducción

That king Shrutayudha was the son of Varuna, whose mother was Parnasha, the great river of cold waters. His mother spoke a word to Varuna for her son's sake: "Let this son of mine be unslayable in the world by his enemies." And Varuna, pleased, said: "I grant him a beneficial boon -- this son of yours shall have a divine weapon, by which he shall be unslayable."
