प्रत्यविध्यच् छितैर् बाणैः षड्विंशत्या स्तनान्तरे ॥
ततः सर्वे रथास् तूर्णं पाञ्चाला जयगृद्धिनः ॥
सात्वताभिसृते द्रोणे धृष्टद्युम्नम् अमोचयन् ॥

Then Shini's grandson, in return, pierced Drona — who was as though devouring the Srinjayas — with sharp arrows, twenty-six in the chest. Then, while Drona rushed at the Satvata, all the Panchala charioteers, craving victory, led Dhrishtadyumna away to safety.

The chapter closes on the harmony of the faithful: while Satyaki draws Drona onto himself, pāñcālāḥ... dhṛṣṭadyumnam amocayan, the Panchalas lead Dhrishtadyumna to safety. The rescue is completed by combined effort. It is telling that one takes the blow while others carry out the deliverance. The verse teaches that victory and rescue in a righteous cause are the fruit of many acting as one: one draws the enemy off, others lead the endangered away, a third strikes home; and where comrades act as one, giving themselves for each other, they snatch their own even from the jaws of the mightiest — for the strength of unity overcomes the power of a single fighter.
