"Without repelling this army, it is impossible to slay Jayadratha, for all these, for the sake of the Sindhian, have renounced their lives. A forest of arrows, spears, and banners, swarming with horses and elephants — look at this array of the sons of Dhritarashtra, so hard to approach. Listen to the roar of the kettledrums and the abundant sounds of conches, and the lion-roars, and the clatter of chariot-rims; and listen to the trumpeting of elephants, and the footmen by thousands, and the racing horsemen — listen to those who shake the earth."
