न ज्ञातिम् अवमन्यन्ते वृद्धानां शासने रताः ॥
न देवासुरगन्धर्वा न यक्षोरगराक्षसाः ॥
जेतारो वृष्णिवीराणां न पुनर् मानुषा रणे ॥
ब्रह्मद्रव्ये गुरुद्रव्ये ज्ञातिद्रव्ये ऽप्य् अहिंसकाः ॥
एतेषां रक्षितारश् च ये स्युः कस्यां चिद् आपदि ॥
na jñātim avamanyante vṛddhānāṃ śāsane ratāḥ ||
na devāsuragandharvā na yakṣoragarākṣasāḥ ||
jetāro vṛṣṇivīrāṇāṃ na punar mānuṣā raṇe ||
brahmadravye gurudravye jñātidravye 'py ahiṃsakāḥ ||
eteṣāṃ rakṣitāraś ca ye syuḥ kasyāṃ cid āpadi ||
"They do not despise a kinsman, being devoted to the obedience of elders; neither gods, asuras, gandharvas, nor yakshas, serpents, rakshasas [are their equal]. Never encroaching upon the wealth of a brahmin, the wealth of a teacher, or the wealth of a kinsman, they are protectors of such wealth for whoever might fall into any calamity."

The strength of the Vrishnis is rooted in dharma: they honor their kin, heed their elders, and do not encroach on what belongs to others — to the brahmin, to the teacher, to the kinsman. It is telling that they not only refrain from harm but actively protect others' possessions in time of trouble: virtue here is active. The verse teaches that a lineage's true might rests not on weapons but on righteousness; and it is fidelity to dharma — reverence for elders, respect for others' property, and protection of the weak — that grants true invincibility, not strength of arm alone.
