उक्तवांश् च महाबाहुः कुन्तीपुत्रो धनंजयः ॥
जीवन्तम् आनयाचार्यं मा वधीर् द्रुपदात्मज ॥
न हन्तव्यो न हन्तव्य इति ते सैनिकाश् च ह ॥
उत्क्रोशन्न् अर्जुनश् चैव सानुक्रोशस् तम् आद्रवत् ॥
क्रोशमाने ऽर्जुने चैव पार्थिवेषु च सर्वशः ॥
धृष्टद्युम्नो ऽवधीद् द्रोणं रथतल्पे नरर्षभम् ॥

uktavāṃś ca mahābāhuḥ kuntīputro dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
jīvantam ānayācāryaṃ mā vadhīr drupadātmaja ||
na hantavyo na hantavya iti te sainikāś ca ha ||
utkrośann arjunaś caiva sānukrośas tam ādravat ||
krośamāne 'rjune caiva pārthiveṣu ca sarvaśaḥ ||
dhṛṣṭadyumno 'vadhīd droṇaṃ rathatalpe nararṣabham ||

Traducción

And the mighty-armed son of Kunti, Dhananjaya, said: "Bring the Acharya alive, do not kill him, o son of Drupada!" "He must not be killed, he must not be killed" -- [cried] those warriors too; and Arjuna, crying out, full of compassion, rushed toward him. But while Arjuna and all the kings were crying out, Dhrishtadyumna killed Drona, the bull among men, on the floor of the chariot.
