तस्मात् संपश्यतस् तस्य द्रावयिष्यामि वाहिनीम् ॥
विद्राव्य सत्यं हन्तास्मि पापं पाञ्चाल्यम् एव तु ॥
सर्वान् एतान् हनिष्यामि यदि योत्स्यन्ति मां रणे ॥
सत्यं ते प्रतिजानामि परावर्तय वाहिनीम् ॥
तच् छ्रुत्वा तव पुत्रस् तु वाहिनीं पर्यवर्तयत् ॥
सिंहनादेन महता व्यपोह्य सुमहद् भयम् ॥

tasmāt saṃpaśyatas tasya drāvayiṣyāmi vāhinīm ||
vidrāvya satyaṃ hantāsmi pāpaṃ pāñcālyam eva tu ||
sarvān etān haniṣyāmi yadi yotsyanti māṃ raṇe ||
satyaṃ te pratijānāmi parāvartaya vāhinīm ||
tac chrutvā tava putras tu vāhinīṃ paryavartayat ||
siṃhanādena mahatā vyapohya sumahad bhayam ||

Traducción

'...Therefore before his eyes I shall put his army to flight; having put it to flight, I shall truly slay the sinful Panchalian [Dhrishtadyumna]. I shall slay all these if they fight with me in battle; truly I vow to you — turn the army back.' Hearing this, your son turned the army back to battle, dispelling the greatest fear with a great lion's roar.
