एवम् उक्त्वा महाभागः पाण्डवानां पितामहः ॥
पार्थान् आमन्त्र्य कुन्तीं च प्रातिष्ठत महातपाः ॥

Here the guru, having disclosed the destiny, departs without lingering. It is telling that Vyasa, having resolved the doubt and shown the way, leaves at once: the teacher gives what is needed and does not stay to reap gratitude. Here is the selflessness of a true teacher: he reveals the will of providence and withdraws, leaving the disciples to act. Thus scripture shows the image of a guru who comes at the needed hour, dispels the darkness of ignorance, and departs; and having directed the Pandavas toward Draupadi, Vyasa entrusts the rest to them and to what is preordained.
