तत् कर्म भीमस्य समीक्ष्य कृष्णः; कुन्तीसुतौ तौ परिशङ्कमानः ॥
निवारयाम् आस महीपतींस् तान्; धर्मेण लब्धेत्य् अनुनीय सर्वान् ॥

Here the Lord pacifies the quarrel with a single word of truth. It is telling that Krishna quenches a strife about to erupt with the argument of dharma: "she was won lawfully" — where truth stands, there is no room for claim. Here shines the peace-making wisdom of the Lord: He does not kindle strife but extinguishes it, affirming what is just. Thus the scripture reveals Krishna as the keeper of dharma and peace; and His word averts bloodshed by acknowledging the lawfulness of Arjuna's victory.
