ते तत्र भुक्त्वा पुरुषप्रवीरा; यथानुकामं सुभृशं प्रतीताः ॥
उत्क्रम्य सर्वाणि वसूनि तत्र; सांग्रामिकान्य् आविविशुर् नृवीराः ॥

Here the test resolves itself: the heart chooses of its own accord what is kindred to it. It is telling that these heroes, passing by fruits, tools, and toys, go straight to the weapons: a warrior's nature is drawn irresistibly to its own. Svadharma, one's own calling, reveals itself in unthinking preference: what is native to a man is what he reaches for without deliberation. So the scripture shows how hidden kshatriyas betray themselves by their choice, and Drupada's silent question receives a clear answer.
