तस्य दृष्ट्वा तपस् तादृग् रूपं चाद्भुतदर्शनम् ॥
अवतीर्णाः स्म तं देशं तपोविघ्नचिकीर्षया ॥
अहं च सौरभेयी च समीची बुद्बुदा लता ॥
यौगपद्येन तं विप्रम् अभ्यगच्छाम भारत ॥

Here envy of another's austerity draws one into sin. It is significant that the apsaras go to 'disturb the austerity': dark forces strive to seduce one ascending toward holiness. The path of the ascetic is ever tempted by allurement. Thus the scripture reveals the design of seduction; and those who dare against the holy will bring punishment upon themselves.
