देवनागरी
ततस् ते तद् वचः श्रुत्वा ग्राह्यरूपं हलायुधात् ॥
तूष्णीं भूतास् ततः सर्वे साधु साध्व् इति चाब्रुवन् ॥
समं वचो निशम्येति बलदेवस्य धीमतः ॥
पुनर् एव सभामध्ये सर्वे तु समुपाविशन् ॥

Here a sober word extinguishes the kindled anger. It is significant that the enraged men immediately fall silent and sit down: the word of a level-headed elder holds sway over the crowd. This reveals the power of wise counsel to restrain passion. Thus the scripture shows the effectiveness of sober speech; and the assembly returns to reasoning instead of tumult.
