Here the account of Varuna's hall concludes, and the gaze turns to the abode of Kubera, the lord of treasures. It is significant that the narrative, having passed through the waters and the law, now ascends to the hall of wealth: each guardian of the world discloses a new facet of cosmic order. Thus scripture leads the mind further onward; and next the hall of Kubera will be revealed.
