प्रथितो गोपतिर् नाम नदी यस्याभवत् प्रिया ॥
तस्मिन् सर्वाणि कर्माणि क्रियन्ते कर्मकर्तृभिः ॥
वडवामुखः पिबत्य् अम्भो यो ऽसौ परमदारुणः ॥
ऊर्ध्वभाग् ऊर्ध्वभाङ् नाम कविः प्राणाश्रितस् तु सः ॥
उदग्द्वारं हविर् यस्य गृहे नित्यं प्रदीयते ॥
ततः स्विष्टं भवेद् आज्यं स्विष्टकृत् परमः स्मृतः ॥
यः प्रशान्तेषु भूतेषु मन्युर् भवति पावकः ॥
क्रोधस्य तु रसो जज्ञे मन्यती चाथ पुत्रिका ॥
स्वाहेति दारुणा क्रूरा सर्वभूतेषु तिष्ठति ॥
त्रिदिवे यस्य सदृशो नास्ति रूपेण कश् चन ॥
अतुल्यत्वात् कृतो देवैर् नाम्ना कामस् तु पावकः ॥
संहर्षाद् धारयन् क्रोधं धन्वी स्रग्वी रथे स्थितः ॥
समरे नाशयेच् छत्रून् अमोघो नाम पावकः ॥
उक्थो नाम महाभाग त्रिभिर् उक्थैर् अभिष्टुतः ॥
महावाचं त्व् अजनयत् सकामाश्वं हि यं विदुः ॥

yaḥ praśānteṣu bhūteṣu manyur bhavati pāvakaḥ ||
krodhasya tu raso jajñe manyatī cātha putrikā ||
svāheti dāruṇā krūrā sarvabhūteṣu tiṣṭhati ||
tridive yasya sadṛśo nāsti rūpeṇa kaś cana ||
atulyatvāt kṛto devair nāmnā kāmas tu pāvakaḥ ||
saṃharṣād dhārayan krodhaṃ dhanvī sragvī rathe sthitaḥ ||
samare nāśayec chatrūn amogho nāma pāvakaḥ ||
uktho nāma mahābhāga tribhir ukthair abhiṣṭutaḥ ||
mahāvācaṃ tv ajanayat sakāmāśvaṃ hi yaṃ viduḥ ||
There was also Gopati, whose beloved became a river, and in whom all actions are performed. The terrible Vadavamukha, who drinks the waters, is called Urdhvabhag; he is wise and dwells in prana. He to whom havis is daily offered in the house through the northern door is called the supreme Svishtakrit: through him ajya becomes well-accomplished. When wrath arises among beings at peace, that is the fire Manyu; from the taste of wrath was born his daughter Manyati, the stern and fierce Svaha, who dwells in all beings. The fire whose equal in beauty is found nowhere in the third heaven the gods named Kama. Amogha, standing on his chariot with bow and garland, holding his wrath in battle-fury, destroys enemies in war. Uktha, great and blessed, is glorified by the three ukthas and begot Mahavacha, who is known as Sakamashva.
