स एवम् उक्तो गोविन्दः प्रत्युवाच महामनाः ॥
ओघमेघस्वनः काले प्रगृह्य विपुलं भुजम् ॥
अनम्बूकृतम् अग्रस्तम् अनिरस्तम् असंकुलम् ॥
राजीवनेत्रो राजानं हेतुमद्वाक्यम् उत्तमम् ॥
कृतार्था भुञ्जते दूताः पूजां गृह्णन्ति चैव हि ॥
कृतार्थं मां सहामात्यस् त्वम् अर्चिष्यसि भारत ॥
एवम् उक्तः प्रत्युवाच धार्तराष्ट्रो जनार्दनम् ॥
न युक्तं भवतास्मासु प्रतिपत्तुम् असांप्रतम् ॥
कृतार्थं चाकृतार्थं च त्वां वयं मधुसूदन ॥
यतामहे पूजयितुं गोविन्द न च शक्नुमः ॥

oghameghasvanaḥ kāle pragṛhya vipulaṃ bhujam ||
anambūkṛtam agrastam anirastam asaṃkulam ||
rājīvanetro rājānaṃ hetumadvākyam uttamam ||
kṛtārthā bhuñjate dūtāḥ pūjāṃ gṛhṇanti caiva hi ||
kṛtārthaṃ māṃ sahāmātyas tvam arciṣyasi bhārata ||
evam uktaḥ pratyuvāca dhārtarāṣṭro janārdanam ||
na yuktaṃ bhavatāsmāsu pratipattum asāṃpratam ||
kṛtārthaṃ cākṛtārthaṃ ca tvāṃ vayaṃ madhusūdana ||
yatāmahe pūjayituṃ govinda na ca śaknumaḥ ||

And that lotus-eyed destroyer of foes then entered the ash-gray palace of Dhritarashtra, adorned with numerous structures. And, having passed through the first three chambers of the palace, that chastiser of enemies, Keshava, came upon the king's son Vichitravirya. And when this scion of the Dashariha line drew near him, the blind king, renowned for great glory, rose together with Drona and Bhishma, Kripa and Somadatta, as well as King Vahlika — all rose in honor of Janardana.
