यावद् धि सूच्यास् तीक्ष्णाया विध्येद् अग्रेण माधव ॥
तावद् अप्य् अपरित्याज्यं भूमेर् नः पाण्डवान् प्रति ॥

yāvad dhi sūcyās tīkṣṇāyā vidhyed agreṇa mādhava ||
tāvad apy aparityājyaṃ bhūmer naḥ pāṇḍavān prati ||

शब्दशः अर्थ

सूच्यास्sūcyāsof a needle; of a fine needle
तीक्ष्णायाtīkṣṇāyāsharp; pointed
विध्येद्vidhyedwould pierce; would prick
अग्रेणagreṇawith the point; with the tip
माधवmādhavaO Madhava; O descendant of Madhu
तावद्tāvadthat much; so much
अप्य्apyalso; even
अपरित्याज्यंaparityājyaṃnot to be ceded; that which cannot be given up
भूमेर्bhūmerof land; of the land's portion
नःnaḥby us; our
पाण्डवान्pāṇḍavānto the Pandavas; the Pandavas
प्रतिpratitowards; with regard to
अनुवाद

"'As much land as could be pierced by the point of a sharp needle, O Madhava — that much even should not be ceded by us to the Pandavas.'"
