एवंबुद्धिः पाण्डवेषु मिथ्यावृत्तिः सदा भवान् ॥
कथं ते नापराधो ऽस्ति पाण्डवेषु महात्मसु ॥
कृत्वा बहून्य् अकार्याणि पाण्डवेषु नृशंसवत् ॥
मिथ्यावृत्तिर् अनार्यः सन्न् अद्य विप्रतिपद्यसे ॥
मातापितृभ्यां भीष्मेण द्रोणेन विदुरेण च ॥
शाम्येति मुहुर् उक्तो ऽसि न च शाम्यसि पार्थिव ॥
शमे हि सुमहान् अर्थस् तव पार्थस्य चोभयोः ॥
न च रोचयसे राजन् किम् अन्यद् बुद्धिलाघवात् ॥
न शर्म प्राप्स्यसे राजन्न् उत्क्रम्य सुहृदां वचः ॥
अधर्म्यम् अयशस्यं च क्रियते पार्थिव त्वया ॥
evaṃbuddhiḥ pāṇḍaveṣu mithyāvṛttiḥ sadā bhavān ||
kathaṃ te nāparādho 'sti pāṇḍaveṣu mahātmasu ||

śāmyeti muhur ukto 'si na ca śāmyasi pārthiva ||
śame hi sumahān arthas tava pārthasya cobhayoḥ ||
na ca rocayase rājan kim anyad buddhilāghavāt ||
na śarma prāpsyase rājann utkramya suhṛdāṃ vacaḥ ||
adharmyam ayaśasyaṃ ca kriyate pārthiva tvayā ||
“‘With such a mindset toward the Pandavas, and with conduct that is ever false, how can you claim to have no guilt before the magnanimous Pandavas? Having done much that is improper against the Pandavas, acting like a cruel man, being deceitful and ignoble, today you still argue. Your mother, your father, Bhishma, Drona, and Vidura told you again and again: “Make peace” — yet you do not make peace, O lord of the earth. Great benefit lies in peace, both for you and for the son of Pritha, yet you do not desire it, O king; what is this, if not lightness of mind? You will not obtain happiness, O king, by transgressing the word of your friends; unrighteous and shameful deeds are being committed by you, O lord of the earth.’”
