संजय उवाच
तं तथा कृपयाविष्टम् अश्रुपूर्णाकुलेक्षणम् ॥
विषीदन्तम् इदं वाक्यम् उवाच मधुसूदनः ॥

viṣīdantam idaṃ vākyam uvāca madhusūdanaḥ ||

अश्रुपूर्णाकुलेक्षणम्aśrupūrṇākulekṣaṇamwith eyes full of tears and bewildered; with a tear-filled, troubled gaze
विषीदन्तम् इदं वाक्यम्viṣīdantam idaṃ vākyamto the grieving one, this word; to him who despaired, this speech
उवाच मधुसूदनःuvāca madhusūdanaḥMadhusudana spoke; the slayer of Madhu said
अनुवाद
Sanjaya said: "Madhusudana spoke these words to Arjuna, who was overcome with compassion, his eyes full of tears and bewilderment, sunk in grief."
