एवम् उक्तस् तव सुतो नाब्रवीत् किं चिद् अप्य् असौ ॥
श्रुतं चाश्रुतवत् कृत्वा प्रायाद् येन स सात्यकिः ॥
सैन्येन महता युक्तो म्लेच्छानाम् अनिवर्तिनाम् ॥
आसाद्य च रणे यत्तो युयुधानम् अयोधयत् ॥
द्रोणो ऽपि रथिनां श्रेष्ठः पाञ्चालान् पाण्डवांस् तथा ॥
अभ्यद्रवत संक्रुद्धो जवम् आस्थाय मध्यमम् ॥

śrutaṃ cāśrutavat kṛtvā prāyād yena sa sātyakiḥ ||
sainyena mahatā yukto mlecchānām anivartinām ||
āsādya ca raṇe yatto yuyudhānam ayodhayat ||
droṇo 'pi rathināṃ śreṣṭhaḥ pāñcālān pāṇḍavāṃs tathā ||
abhyadravata saṃkruddho javam āsthāya madhyamam ||

असौ श्रुतम् च अश्रुतवत्asau śrutam ca aśrutavathe, treating what was heard as unheard; he, making the heard as though unheard
कृत्वाkṛtvāhaving done; having made [it so]
प्रायात् येन सः सात्यकिःprāyāt yena saḥ sātyakiḥwent forth to where that Sātyaki [was]; set off to where that Sātyaki [stood]
सैन्येन महता युक्तःsainyena mahatā yuktaḥjoined with a great army; accompanied by a vast army
म्लेच्छानाम् अनिवर्तिनाम्mlecchānām anivartināmof Mlecchas who do not retreat; of Mlecchas, unyielding
आसाद्य च रणे यत्तःāsādya ca raṇe yattaḥand having engaged, prepared in battle; and having joined battle, girded
युयुधानम् अयोधयत्yuyudhānam ayodhayatfought with Yuyudhāna; fought with Yuyudhāna
द्रोणः अपि रथिनाम् श्रेष्ठःdroṇaḥ api rathinām śreṣṭhaḥDroṇa too, the best of charioteers; and Droṇa, foremost of warriors
पाञ्चालान् पाण्डवान् तथाpāñcālān pāṇḍavān tathāupon the Pāñcālas and Pāṇḍavas likewise; upon the Pāñcālas and Pāṇḍavas alike
अभ्यद्रवत संक्रुद्धःabhyadravata saṃkruddhaḥcharged, enraged; rushed, enraged
जवम् आस्थाय मध्यमम्javam āsthāya madhyamamtaking a moderate speed; taking a middling pace
अनुवाद

Thus addressed, your son said nothing at all, and, treating what he had heard as though unheard, went forth to where Sātyaki stood; joined with a great army of unyielding Mlecchas, he engaged and fought, girded for battle, with Yuyudhāna. And Droṇa, foremost of warriors, charged, enraged, upon the Pāñcālas and Pāṇḍavas alike, taking a moderate pace.
