ते रैर् ग्निसंकाशैस् तोरैश् हानैः
स्त्रैश् विविधै राजन् द्रोणम् कम् वाकिरन्
नित्य तान् बाणान् द्रोणो राजन् न्ततः
हारान् व्योम्नि मारिश्वा विवान्
तः रं हाघोरं सूर्यपासंनिभम्
संधे वीघ्नो वीकेतुथं प्रति

अनुवाद

They, with arrows like fire, with costly spears, and with weapons of every kind, O king, overwhelmed Droṇa alone. Having beaten down those swarms of arrows, Droṇa, O king, scattered them on every side, as the wind scatters great cloud-masses in the sky. Then the slayer of enemy heroes fitted a most terrible arrow, resembling the sun and fire, against Vīraketu's chariot.
