Here it becomes evident that Baka's strength is failing while Bhima knows no fatigue. Telling is the word about the "exhaustion" that has overtaken the man-eater: fury unsupported by truth burns itself out, and the enemy's body gives way before Bhima's does. Evil is exhaustible, while strength grounded in dharma is inexhaustible: good stands firm where evil runs out of breath. Telling too is the cosmic scale of the struggle — the trembling earth, the shattering trees: the righteous man's combat with the tyrant shakes the very world. So the scripture shows the turning point of the battle: the devourer's exhaustion is the beginning of his ruin, for only strength in service of truth is untiring.
