अनृतान् मोक्ष्यसे भद्रे धर्मश् चैष सनातनः ॥
न तु वक्ष्यामि सर्वेषां पाञ्चाल शृणु मे स्वयम् ॥
यथायं विहितो धर्मो यतश् चायं सनातनः ॥
यथा च प्राह कौन्तेयस् तथा धर्मो न संशयः ॥

译文
Vyasa said: 'From untruth you will be freed, O gracious one, and this is eternal dharma; but I will not speak it before all. O Panchala, hear it from me alone — how this dharma was established, and why it is eternal; and as the son of Kunti says, so is dharma, without doubt.'

Here the highest authority pronounces the verdict — and reveals the mystery in private. It is telling that Vyasa does two things: publicly he affirms that this is 'eternal dharma,' but he reveals the reason to Drupada alone. This shows that hidden knowledge [rahasya] is entrusted not to the crowd but to the worthy in private: some mysteries of dharma are not for every ear. Thus scripture shows both the inviolability of the sage's judgment and the reverent concealment of a deep mystery, and the dispute is resolved face to face.
