यावन् न तेषां गान्धारे तावद् एवाशु विक्रम ॥

सह पुत्रैर् महावीर्यैस् तावद् एवाशु विक्रम ॥

Here military calculation urges a strike before the enemy gathers. Telling is the insistent 'at once, at once': valor too, in an evil cause, hastens like deceit to forestall the strength of truth. Herein lies the truth: an unjust undertaking fears delay, for truth grows stronger with time. Thus the scripture reveals the impatience of the scheme; and haste betrays its own instability.
