जगाम तानि सर्वाणि तीर्थान्य् आयतनानि च ॥
दृष्ट्वा च विधिवत् तानि धनं चापि ददौ ततः ॥

Here the pilgrim visits the shrines "duly," according to rite. It is significant that the word "duly" appears: piety honors not only the place but the manner of worship. Shrines are visited with proper rite, not in haste. Thus scripture shows Arjuna's ritual care; and everywhere he leaves a trace of generosity.
