वनमाली ततः क्षीबः कैलासशिखरोपमः ॥
नीलवासा मदोत्सिक्त इदं वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥
किम् इदं कुरुथाप्रज्ञास् तूष्णीं भूते जनार्दने ॥
अस्य भावम् अविज्ञाय संक्रुद्धा मोघगर्जिताः ॥
एष तावद् अभिप्रायम् आख्यातु स्वं महामतिः ॥
यद् अस्य रुचितं कर्तुं तत् कुरुध्वम् अतन्द्रिताः ॥

एष तावत् अभिप्रायम् आख्यातु स्वं महामतिःeṣa tāvat abhiprāyam ākhyātu svaṃ mahāmatiḥlet this man of great wisdom first declare his own intention;

译文

Balarama said: ‘Then Vanamali, intoxicated, resembling the peak of Kailasa, clad in blue garments, flushed with wine, spoke this word: “What is this you are doing, unwise ones, while Janardana remains silent? Without learning his intention, enraged, you roar in vain; let this man of great wisdom first declare his own intention; whatever he wishes to do, that do, tireless ones.”’
