सारिसृक्व उवाच
धीरस् त्वम् असि मेधावी प्राणकृच्छ्रम् इदं च नः ॥
शूरः प्राज्ञो बहूनां हि भवत्य् एको न संशयः ॥
स्तम्बमित्र उवाच
ज्येष्ठस् त्राता भवति वै ज्येष्ठो मुञ्चति कृच्छ्रतः ॥
ज्येष्ठश् चेन् न प्रजानाति कनीयान् किं करिष्यति ॥
sārisṛkva uvāca
dhīras tvam asi medhāvī prāṇakṛcchram idaṃ ca naḥ ||
śūraḥ prājño bahūnāṃ hi bhavaty eko na saṃśayaḥ ||
stambamitra uvāca
jyeṣṭhas trātā bhavati vai jyeṣṭho muñcati kṛcchrataḥ ||
jyeṣṭhaś cen na prajānāti kanīyān kiṃ kariṣyati ||
Sarisrikva said: "You are steadfast and wise; and this is our mortal danger; for one brave and wise man is worth many, without doubt." Stambamitra said: "The eldest indeed is the savior; the eldest delivers from calamity; if the eldest does not know the way, what will the younger do?"

Here the younger entrust themselves to the wisdom of the eldest. It is significant that the brothers rely on the eldest as their savior: where there is a wise elder, there is hope for the younger too. Herein lies a good order, in which the eldest leads and the younger trust. Thus scripture reveals the concord of brothers -- and the eldest is called upon to raise praise to Agni.
