ततो ऽभ्यगच्छत् सहसा मन्दपालो ऽपि भारत ॥
अथ ते सर्व एवैनं नाभ्यनन्दन्त वै सुताः ॥
लालप्यमानम् एकैकं जरितां च पुनः पुनः ॥
नोचुस् ते वचनं किं चित् तम् ऋषिं साध्व् असाधु वा ॥

Here those who were left behind meet the one who returns with silence. It is telling that neither the sons nor the mother answer Mandapala: those abandoned are in no hurry to receive one who left in the hour of need. Here is the lesson that trust, once lost, does not return at once. So the scripture reveals a cold reception; and Mandapala will begin to question them.
