एवम् आश्वास्य पुत्रान् स भार्यां चादाय भारत ॥

Here the tale of the Sharngakas comes to a peaceful close. It is significant that the family, reunited, departs together: those reconciled continue on as one. In this, forgiveness restores the household to wholeness. Thus scripture concludes the story of Mandapala; and the narrative turns once more to the great conflagration of Khandava.
