Here Arjuna asks not for riches, but for weapons for the duty to come. It is significant that the warrior chooses the gift needful for the defence of dharma: the true kshatriya thirsts for the means of serving righteousness. Here is a preparation for the war of truth to come. Thus scripture shows Arjuna's request; and Indra sets a time for the granting.
