पार्थः प्राप्य धनुःश्रेष्ठम् अक्षय्यौ च महेषुधी ॥
रथं ध्वजं सभां चैव युधिष्ठिरम् अभाषत ॥

Here we are reminded of what Arjuna has already been given: the bow Gandiva, inexhaustible quivers, a wondrous chariot. Tellingly, this word about valor comes from one who received heavenly gifts for the defense of dharma: his confidence is no empty boast but an awareness of strength entrusted from above. Scripture thus shows the foundation of Arjuna's courage; what follows is his speech.
