The son of Pandu, great in splendor, said to Draupadi: 'Come, Panchali, see what has been done to this lecher.' Thus, having killed Kichaka and calmed his wrath, he took leave of Krishna Draupadi and quickly returned to the kitchen. And Draupadi, the best of women, after the killing of Kichaka was joyful and free of anguish. She said to the guards of the hall: 'This Kichaka lies slain by my gandharva husbands, maddened with desire for another's wife. Come and see.' Hearing her words, the guards of the dancing hall gathered at once, taking up thousands of torches. Coming to that house, they saw Kichaka, cast down, lifeless on the ground, drenched in blood. 'Where is his neck? Where are his feet? Where are his hands? Where is his head?' -- thus they examined him, slain then by a gandharva.

Draupadi names the cause directly: Kichaka did not perish merely from Bhima's strength but from lust for another's wife. Thus the hidden act receives its moral explanation.
