पुरोधा वृत्तसंपन्नो नगरं नागसाह्वयम् ॥

dūtakarmaṇi yuktaś ca sthaviraś ca viśeṣataḥ ||
sa bhavān puṣyayogena muhūrtena jayena ca ||
kauraveyān prayātv āśu kaunteyasyārthasiddhaye ||
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
tathānuśiṣṭaḥ prayayau drupadena mahātmanā ||
purodhā vṛttasaṃpanno nagaraṃ nāgasāhvayam ||
Therefore I ask you to set out for the Kauravas without delay, in the interest of the Pandavas' cause, timing your departure to the astrological conjunction called Pushya and to that part of the day called Jaya.' Vaishampayana continued: 'Thus instructed by the great-souled Drupada, the virtuous priest set out for Hastinapura (the city named after the elephant). And this learned man, well versed in the principles of statecraft, set forth to further the welfare of the sons of Pandu among the descendants of Kuru.'
