译文

O king, he who is devoted to honoring the brahmins, he who gives, he who behaves righteously toward his kinsmen, and kshatriyas who conduct themselves nobly, rule the earth for a long time. He who possesses courage, he who possesses knowledge, and he who knows how to protect others — these three are ever able to gather golden flowers from the earth. Of deeds, foremost are those performed with the mind; those performed with weapons come second; those performed with the thighs, and those that bear burdens on the head, are the worst. Having entrusted the care of your kingdom to Duryodhana, Shakuni, the foolish Duhshasana, and Karna, how can you hope for prosperity? The Pandavas, possessed of every virtue, O bull of the Bharata line, rely upon you as upon a father. Rest with them as with your own sons!
