न चैतद् अद्भुतं कृष्ण मित्रार्थे यच् चिकीर्षसि ॥
क्रिया कथं नु मुख्या स्यान् मृदुना वेतरेण वा ॥
अथ वा मन्यसे ज्यायान् वधस् तेषाम् अनन्तरम् ॥
तद् एव क्रियताम् आशु न विचार्यम् अतस् त्वया ॥
जानासि हि यथा तेन द्रौपदी पापबुद्धिना ॥
परिक्लिष्टा सभामध्ये तच् च तस्यापि मर्षितम् ॥
स नाम सम्यग् वर्तेत पाण्डवेष्व् इति माधव ॥
न मे संजायते बुद्धिर् बीजम् उप्तम् इवोषरे ॥
तस्माद् यन् मन्यसे युक्तं पाण्डवानां च यद् धितम् ॥
तद् आशु कुरु वार्ष्णेय यन् नः कार्यम् अनन्तरम् ॥
na caitad adbhutaṃ kṛṣṇa mitrārthe yac cikīrṣasi ||
kriyā kathaṃ nu mukhyā syān mṛdunā vetareṇa vā ||
atha vā manyase jyāyān vadhas teṣām anantaram ||
tad eva kriyatām āśu na vicāryam atas tvayā ||
jānāsi hi yathā tena draupadī pāpabuddhinā ||
parikliṣṭā sabhāmadhye tac ca tasyāpi marṣitam ||
sa nāma samyag varteta pāṇḍaveṣv iti mādhava ||
na me saṃjāyate buddhir bījam uptam ivoṣare ||
tasmād yan manyase yuktaṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca yad dhitam ||
tad āśu kuru vārṣṇeya yan naḥ kāryam anantaram ||
You, like everyone else, shall see me do all this and crush the finest warriors. The marrow in my bones has not yet withered, and my heart does not tremble. Even should the whole world rise against me in wrath, I do not yet feel the touch of fear. Only out of compassion, O slayer of Madhu, do I show goodwill to the enemy. I patiently bear all our wounds, so that the race of Bharata not be uprooted.'
