译文

His soul is possessed by desire and lust. In his folly he considers himself exceedingly wise. He is an enemy to all his true friends. Ever suspicious, master of neither his own soul, nor grateful, he has abandoned all virtue and fallen in love with sin. He is foolish, of undeveloped understanding, a slave to his senses, ever obedient to the impulses of lust and greed, and irresolute in every act he ought to perform. He is endowed with these and many other vices. Though you point out to him what is beneficial for his own good, he will disregard it all the same, driven by pride and anger.
