'Whoever, remembering Me alone at the final hour, leaves the body and departs, attains My nature — of this there is no doubt. O son of Kunti, whatever state a man remembers as he leaves the body at the end, that very state he attains, for he was ever steeped in it. Therefore at all times remember Me and fight. With mind and intellect offered to Me, thou shalt come to Me without doubt. With consciousness joined to the yoga of constant practice, not straying to anything else, a man attains the supreme divine Person, O son of Pritha, ever contemplating Him.'

Remembrance at the moment of death does not arise by chance: it reveals what consciousness has lived by all along. Krishna therefore does not ask Arjuna to abandon duty, but teaches him to remember Him in the midst of action — so that battle itself becomes the ground of yoga rather than an obstacle to it.
