译文

Then, as this great peril raged amid the confusion, your great archers and the Pandava great chariot-warriors, seeking each other's destruction, fell upon one another. Offering their lives in sacrifice on the battlefield, they struck one another down. With hair loosened, without armor, without chariots, and with their bows broken, the Srinjayas and the Kurus fought with their bare arms. Then the mighty-armed and powerful Bhishma, enraged, struck down the army of the great-souled Pandavas with divine weapons. The earth there was strewn with elephants whose riders had been slain, with fallen men and horses, with charioteers and cavalrymen.'
