समुद्रसेनपुत्रं तु सामुद्रा रुद्रतेजसम् ॥
अश्वाः शशाङ्कसदृशाश् चन्द्रदेवम् उदावहन् ॥
नीलोत्पलसवर्णास् तु तपनीयविभूषिताः ॥
शैब्यं चित्ररथं युद्धे चित्रमाल्यावहन् हयाः ॥
कलायपुष्पवर्णास् तु श्वेतलोहितराजयः ॥
रथसेनं हयश्रेष्ठाः समूहुर् युद्धदुर्मदम् ॥

译文

The son of Samudrasena, a man with the fire of Rudra, was borne by horses of ocean breed, resembling the moon — Chandradeva. Horses the color of the blue lotus, adorned with refined gold, in many-colored garlands, bore Shaibya Chitraratha into battle. And horses the color of pea blossom, with white-and-red streaks, the best of horses, bore Rathasena, furious in battle.
