तैर् अश्मचूर्णैर् दीप्यद्भिः खद्योतानाम् इव व्रजैः ॥
प्रायः सैन्यान्य् अवध्यन्त हाहाभूतानि मारिष ॥

译文
"That tumultuous rain of stones, stirred up by the mountaineers, the bull of Shini's race split apart with iron shafts like serpents. With those blazing stone-fragments, as if with swarms of fireflies, the armies nearly struck themselves down, crying out 'alas', O worthy one."

The rain of stones, split apart by arrows, scatters into fragments, "khadyotānām iva vrajaiḥ", like swarms of fireflies, and falls back upon those who hurled it. It is telling that the weapon of untruth turns against itself. The verse teaches that evil aimed at the righteous often falls upon the heads of its own makers: a stratagem, shattered by steadfastness, scatters back upon those who devised it, for untruth in the end strikes first of all against itself.
