दृष्ट्वा तु भीमसेनस्य विक्रमं युधि भारत ॥
अभ्यनन्दंस् त्वदीयाश् च संप्रहृष्टाश् च चारणाः ॥
भूरिश्रवाः कृपो द्रौणिर् मद्रराजो जयद्रथः ॥
उत्तमौजा युधामन्युः सात्यकिः केशवार्जुनौ ॥
कुरुपाण्डवानां प्रवरा दश राजन् महारथाः ॥
साधु साध्व् इति वेगेन सिंहनादम् अथानदन् ॥
dṛṣṭvā tu bhīmasenasya vikramaṃ yudhi bhārata ||
abhyanandaṃs tvadīyāś ca saṃprahṛṣṭāś ca cāraṇāḥ ||
bhūriśravāḥ kṛpo drauṇir madrarājo jayadrathaḥ ||
uttamaujā yudhāmanyuḥ sātyakiḥ keśavārjunau ||
kurupāṇḍavānāṃ pravarā daśa rājan mahārathāḥ ||
sādhu sādhv iti vegena siṃhanādam athānadan ||

Seeing Bhimasena's valor in the battle, O Bharata, your warriors too rejoiced, and the gladdened charanas as well. Bhurishravas, Kripa, the son of Drona, the king of Madra, Jayadratha, Uttamaujas, Yudhamanyu, Satyaki, Keshava and Arjuna — these ten, O king, the foremost great warriors of the Kurus and Pandavas — cried out at once, 'Excellent, excellent!', and let loose a lion's roar.

Bhima's valor draws applause not only from his own side — even warriors of the enemy camp cry out 'splendid!' It is telling that the ten greatest of both armies are of one voice in praise: true courage erases, for a moment, the line between friend and foe. The verse teaches that valor has the power to win recognition even from an adversary; greatness of spirit is known by all, for it stands above the division of sides.
