It is worth noting that here both teachings are joined — reflection and limitation. It says pratibimbena, "by reflection," and immediately avacchinnatayā, "being limited." That is, the compiler took both branches at once; and this shows that before us is not a primary source but an exposition, in which the dispute of the schools has already been smoothed over.
Let us add what is worth saying about limitation itself. Avaccheda-vāda is the teaching of space in a pot: space is one, but pots divide it, and every pot has its own "inside." We have examined this image many times, and the chief objection was cited when reading the Varāha (4.18): space is not living; it does not know, does not want, and does not remember, while the soul knows, wants, and remembers.
Let us add what was also noted there, about the full and the empty pot: the comparison brought to prove merging preserves the dividing wall — otherwise it cannot be voiced. The Vaiṣṇava side draws her own conclusion from this: every comparison used to deny difference itself rests on difference. And this, to my mind, is the most general form of her objection: not "you are wrong," but "your own comparisons say the opposite."
