गोस्रप्रदातॄणां क्रतुदानां या तिः
नैवेशिकं चाभितं तां या तिः शुभा
ब्रह्मर्ये यां यान्ति मुयः संशिव्रता
त्न्यश् यां यान्ति तां तिं व्र पुत्र
राज्ञां सुरितैर् या तिर् ति शाश्वती
तुराश्रमिणां पुण्यैः पावितानां सुक्षितैः

gosahasrapratṝṇāṃ kratunāṃ ca gatiḥ ||
naiveśikaṃ bhimataṃ dadatāṃ gatiḥ śubhā ||
brahmacaryeṇa yāṃ nti munayaḥ saṃśitavra ||
ekapatnyaś ca yāṃ nti tāṃ gatiṃ vraja putraka ||
jñāṃ sucaritair yā ca gatir bhavati śāśva ||
catuśramiṇāṃ puṇyaiḥ vināṃ surakṣitaiḥ ||

चतुराश्रमिणाम् पुण्यैःcaturāśramiṇām puṇyaiḥ[of people] of the four ashramas — through merits; of people of the four ashramas — through merits
पावितानाम् सुरक्षितैःpāvitānām surakṣitaiḥpurified, well-kept [by vows]; purified, strictly kept
Translation

"Whatever destiny [awaits] those who give away thousands of cows, [those who perform] sacrifices and gifts, whatever blessed destiny [awaits] those who give a desired shelter; to whatever [destiny] sages of strict vows go by chastity, and faithful wives — attain that destiny, my son. And that eternal destiny which belongs to kings through good deeds, to people of the four ashramas through merits, purified by strictly kept [vows]…"
