सोपचारस् तु कृष्णस् तां दुःखितां भृशदुःखितः ॥
सिक्त्वाम्भसा समाश्वास्य तत् तद् उक्त्वा हितं वचः ॥
विसंज्ञकल्पां रुदतीम् अपविद्धां प्रवेपतीम् ॥
भगिनीं पुण्डरीकाक्ष इदं वचनम् अब्रवीत् ॥

siktvāmbhasā samāśvāsya tat tad uktvā hitaṃ vacaḥ ||

bhaginīṃ puṇḍarīkākṣa idaṃ vacanam abravīt ||

Translation
Krishna, with attentive care for that grief-stricken one, himself deeply grieved, having sprinkled her with water, comforted her, speaking this and that beneficial word — to his sister, nearly senseless, weeping, prostrate, trembling, the lotus-eyed one spoke this word.

The Lord heals not by word alone but by an act of love: "siktvā ambhasā… sopacāraḥ" — he sprinkles her with water, gives attentive care. And at the same time he is "bhṛśaduḥkhitaḥ," himself deeply grieved: divine comfort comes from shared pain, not from dispassionate height. It is telling that Krishna bends down to his senseless sister with the simplest of ministrations. The verse teaches that true comfort is bodily and active: it offers water, supports, speaks what is good — and itself grieves in sympathy; God comforts his own by descending into their sorrow, not by looking upon it from without.
