सो ऽब्रवीत् पुरुषव्याघ्रः स्वागतेनैव माधवम् ॥
अर्घ्यं चैवासनं चास्मै दीयतां परमार्चितम् ॥
ततः प्रवेश्य वार्ष्णेयम् उपवेश्य वरासने ॥
सत्कृत्य सत्कृतस् तेन पर्यपृच्छद् युधिष्ठिरः ॥

Translation
That tiger among men, [learning of the arrival] of Madhava, spoke with a greeting: "Let arghya and a most honored seat be given to him." Then, bringing in the Varshneya, seating him upon the finest seat, honoring him and being honored by him in turn, Yudhishthira questioned him.

The chapter closes with a meeting of the Lord conducted with due rite: "arghyaṃ… āsanam… paramārcitam," arghya and an honored seat. It is telling that the honoring is mutual: "satkṛtya satkṛtaḥ tena," "honoring and honored by him" — the king honors Krishna, and Krishna honors the king. Thus friendship and reverence are interwoven. The verse teaches that meeting the Lord befits the rite of hospitality and mutual honor: the devotee receives God with honor, and the Lord answers in kind, as a friend; and the day of a decisive undertaking begins not with calculation, but with meeting God and asking of Him.
