तयोः सेनाम् अतिक्रम्य कृच्छ्रान् निर्याद् धनंजयः ॥
विबभौ जलदान् भित्त्वा दिवाकर इवोदितः ॥
तं दृष्ट्वा कुरवस् त्रस्ताः प्रहृष्टाश् चाभवन् पुनः ॥
अभ्यवर्षंस् तदा पार्थं समन्ताद् भरतर्षभ ॥

vibabhau jaladān bhittvā divākara ivoditaḥ ||

abhyavarṣaṃs tadā pārthaṃ samantād bharatarṣabha ||

Translation
Having crossed their army, Dhananjaya emerged with difficulty, and shone, breaking through the clouds, like the risen sun. Seeing him, the Kauravas, frightened yet glad once more, showered Partha from every side, O bull of the Bharatas.

Arjuna emerges "kṛcchrāt" -- with difficulty -- yet "vibabhau... divākaraḥ iva", shines like the sun breaking through clouds. And the Kauravas are "trastāḥ... prahṛṣṭāḥ" -- frightened and glad at once, a divided feeling before something formidable. It is telling that light has again broken through the clouds. The verse teaches that the righteous pass through obstacles with difficulty, yet without being extinguished: like the sun from behind clouds, they show themselves again and again; and the enemy before them wavers between fear and false hope -- for darkness can neither put out the light nor reconcile itself to it.
